FHK Music has divided the school year into two distinct semesters, each representing a defined commitment period for students. Below is a detailed explanation of how the semesters and payment schedule are structured for the 2025–2026 academic year:
Semester Dates
- Semestre 1: Runs from September 8, 2025, to February 22, 2026, concluding at Chinese New Year (CNY).
- Semestre 2: Starts on February 23, 2026, and ends on June 20, 2026.
Students and families are expected to commit to lessons for the entire duration of a semester, ensuring continuity in their musical education throughout that period.
4 instalments per year, 2 per semester
The lesson fees for each semester are divided into two equal instalments to facilitate payment. Here’s how the process works:
- First Instalment: The first half of the semester’s lesson fees will be invoiced at the beginning of the semester. Payment for this instalment is due two weeks from receiving.
- Second Instalment: The second half of the semester’s lesson fees will be invoiced in the middle of the semester. Payment for this instalment is due two weeks from receiving not at the end of the semester.
This system ensures that lesson fees are paid in a timely and manageable manner, avoiding larger lump-sum payments while providing clarity on when payments are expected.

- Due Dates: Families are reminded that fees must be paid promptly upon receiving the invoice to avoid any disruption in lessons.
- Commitment Period: By enrolling, students are committing to attend lessons for the full duration of the semester. This commitment ensures consistency and progress in their musical learning journey.
Calendar & Cancellation Policy
Calendrier
- Lessons are delivered on weekly basis, except during FHK Music holidays or public holidays.
- FHK Music aligns its holiday schedule with the calendar of the French International School (FIS). View the 2025–2026 FHK Music Calendar here to plan ahead.
- Optional classes may be arranged during the holidays if the teacher is available, at parents’ request.
- We understand, however, that some families may follow a different school calendar or have specific scheduling needs. We can reschedule a few lessons based on your own holiday schedule, we make it work!

Group Classes
- “Joker” Lesson: Each semester allows for 1 “joker” lesson, meaning one class may be cancelled and credited to the next term, provided a 24 hours’ notice is given.
- Studio Rental: Due to the conditions of our studio rental, cancellations or make-up lessons are not possible for pop-rock band classes.
Private Classes
- Make-Up Lesson: Students are entitled to 1 make-up lesson per semester in cases of illness or travel, provided 48 hours’ notice is given. We never cancel private lessons all-together.
Semi-Private Classes
- Make-Up Lesson: If all members of the group are sick or travelling, 1 make-up lesson per semester may be arranged with 48 hours’ notice. We never cancel semi-private lessons all-together.
