Next school year (Sept 2024-June 2025), FHK Music will keep offering private instrument lessons at students’ homes and group activities such as Pop choir, Music theory and history (3 year programme) and Music induction for little ones.
Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce two exciting additions to our upcoming programmes!
1. NEW PROGRAMME: Pop/Rock Band projects
These new group classes are set to ignite enthusiasm among aspiring pop-rock musicians of all ages, providing them with unique avenues for musical growth. Together, they will form a real band (singers, keyboard, guitar, drums, bass, …), learn cool songs and perform on stage during FHK Music student concerts and hopefully other locations in HK as soon as they are ready! We will start this programme in Stanley and TKO in September,
In Stanley, conveniently, next to the bus station in Stanley Plaza, ‘Caritas’ youth center will serve as the perfect venue for these new musical activities. Caritas is equipped with great facilities, and will offer a nurturing space for these bands to rehearse and perform. This opportunity will provide a stage for budding musicians to showcase their passion and talent, creating a sense of community and shared musical joy.
For instance, this is Caritas’ professional Band-rock studio in Stanley Plaza that our lucky students will be able to use on a weekly basis:
In TKO, we will have a dedicated studio in January. Meanwhile, band practice can begin in students’ homes.
2. NEW PROGRAMME: Multi-instrument Orchestra
These new classes aim at inspiring young classical musicians to embrace the joy of collaborative music-making and experience the magic of a music school environment. “Multi-instrument” means that each student will be able to play/discover several instruments during the school year (violin, piano, cello, guitar, ukulele, glockenspiel, xylophones, drums…). Music styles will be varied, from classical to pop. Great fun, motivation and good learning guaranteed!
This opportunity will warmly welcome participants regardless of their skill level, whether they are beginners or those who have recently completed the three-year French solfege programme and whish to continue learning music together and reading /practicing scores.
Registrations for the new school year will open in early June, with existing FHK Music students being granted priority. We are thrilled to launch these new programs for our students and we have high hopes for their success. Spread the word!
