Private lessons
(Instruments, singing)
We offer a wide range of musical activities, in English, Chinese or French:
The inspiration for FHK Music came from recognizing opportunities to enhance music education in Hong Kong by incorporating elements found in traditional music schools in France and Southern Europe.
In Hong Kong, many children learn instruments through private lessons in their homes or at music shops. While this approach offers advantages—such as convenience, experienced teachers, and clear progression paths—it can also have some limitations. Students often practice alone without the benefits of group lessons, end-of-year concerts, or the camaraderie that comes from sharing music with peers. This solitary practice can sometimes lead to a lack of motivation. Additionally, the music theory taught may not cover all the essentials for mastering score reading.
With this in mind, FHK Music employs a teaching method based on three pillars:
By blending the best practices from both local and European methods, we create an engaging and supportive environment for students of all ages.
We also organize two grand student concerts each year, celebrating the joy of music in a shared setting with family and friends.
In summary, FHK Music provides a rich musical education experience in Hong Kong, inspired by European traditions, and strives to make learning music both enjoyable and rewarding for everyone involved.
Individual instrument and singing lessons are dispensed at home (student’s or teacher’s) and group lessons are given in Stanley Market or TKO / Clear Water Bay in classrooms.
New in semester 2, 2025: group activities are opening in Wan Chai!
