Course Overview
- Electronic Music Presentation and Evolution: Explore various genres and the history of electronic music.
- Mixing Fundamentals: Learn essential skills including basic mixing, BPM adjustment, and equalization.
Class Structure
- Participants: Each group will consist of 2 students, with a maximum of 4 participants for personalized attention.
- Pair Work: You’ll work in pairs for hands-on practice, encouraging teamwork and creativity.
Hands-On Experience
- Working with Your Favorites: Bring your favorite genres of music and master creating a complete mix using your own equipment.
- DJ Routine Mastery: The instructor will guide you through the DJ routine, focusing on mixing techniques tailored to different genres. You’ll also learn to add creativity with filters and effects.
Progress Tracking
- Monthly Progress Reports: The teacher will provide a tracker every month to summarize your progress and focus areas.
Performance Opportunities
- End-of-Semester Live Mix: Each student will be featured in a 45-minute live mix recorded back-to-back. These recorded mixes will be shared on the FHK YouTube channel for public voting on favorite mixes.
- FHK Music Concerts: Students will have the chance to perform on stage at FHK Music concerts twice a year, showcasing their skills with edited versions of their favorite tracks.
Equipment Support
- Initial Equipment Provided: The teacher will provide the necessary equipment to kick-start your DJing journey.
- Future Equipment Guidance: As you progress, you will need your own equipment. The teacher will assist in selecting gear that meets your needs, expectations, and budget.
