Le Suzuki Violin School, Volume 2 (International Edition) continues the carefully structured progression established in Volume 1 and is proudly recommended by the violin teachers of FHK Music. Building on a solid foundation of posture, tone production, and basic technique, this volume further develops musical sensitivity, bow control, intonation, and note-reading skills.
Following Dr. Shinichi Suzuki’s renowned “Mother-Tongue” philosophy, students strengthen their playing through consistent listening, repetition, and guided practice. Volume 2 introduces more refined bow strokes, improved string crossings, dynamic contrasts, and greater expressive awareness.
The repertoire includes a rich selection of Baroque and classical works such as chorales by J.S. Bach, Hunter’s Chorus (C.M. von Weber), Long, Long Ago (T.H. Bayly – arranged), Witches’ Dance (N. Paganini), Bourrée (G.F. Handel), The Two Grenadiers (R. Schumann), and Corelli’s La Folia, among others. These pieces gradually increase in technical demand while maintaining musical charm and stylistic variety.
Through this thoughtfully graded repertoire, students continue to develop confident tone production, refined bow distribution, accurate shifting preparation, and stronger musical interpretation.
An excellent next step in the Suzuki journey, Volume 2 supports steady progress, artistic growth, and deeper musical understanding. ??
