Trinity’s Acoustic Guitar syllabus offers a fresh and contemporary direction for guitar study, thoughtfully reinventing the well-known Plectrum Guitar syllabus. It keeps the qualification relevant to today’s musicians by giving teachers and learners the flexibility to develop both fingerstyle and plectrum techniques, supporting a broad and balanced skill set. For continuity and progression, a selection of the most popular pieces from the previous syllabus has been retained at every grade.
This volume includes all the exam pieces for Grades 3, 4, and 5, providing an engaging and stylistically diverse repertoire. At each grade, students can explore a wide range of genres including folk, acoustic, rock and pop, jazz, blues, and country. The variety allows candidates to follow distinct stylistic pathways as they advance, helping them refine technique, build confidence, and develop their own musical voice.
All pieces are presented in both tablature and standard notation, ensuring accessibility for learners with different reading preferences and backgrounds. Comprehensive, versatile, and musically inspiring, this collection is an excellent resource for developing guitarists preparing for Trinity examinations at intermediate levels.
