The Team

Meet the team

All passionate musicians who enjoy teaching, the 20 teachers of FHK Music transmit their knowledge and enthusiasm with kindness to their students. Here is a quick overview of this International team of professors.

Head of FHK Music pop-rock programme

Singing, Guitar, Ukulele, Choir and Pop/Rock Band Teacher

  • Graduated from the BIMM University of Music in London
  • 7th place on the UK TV Show The Xfactor in 2014. Performed at Wembley Stadium in front of 75,000 people. Signed two record deals, one in the UK and the other in LA.
  • Currently signed a Record Deal with Sony Music Publishing HK (Songwriting).
  • Original songs featured on European TV shows. (Killing Eve, Cold Feet).
  • Headlined 3 tours across the UK.
  • Had a number 1 selling album (independent artist charts).

Hinson

FHK Music Teacher coordinator

Piano (classical and pop), saxophone and flute teacher

  • Registered Education Bureau Teacher
  • Full-Time Music Teacher at Hong Chi Pinehill No. 2 School and Ebenezer New Hope School
  • Graduated from The Education University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education (BEd)
  • Achieved ABRSM Piano Diploma, and Grade 8 in Flute and Saxophone
  • Regular participant in various musical performances across Hong Kong (Jockey Club, musicals, clubs, etc.)
  • Teaches and conducts orchestras in multiple primary and secondary schools
  • Composer of pop songs and musicals

DJ Stavef

DJ Teacher

  • Professional DJ with more than 20 years of experience.
  • Expert in DJ equipment and mixing software, Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor.
  • Served as Music Director at Michel Reybier Hospitality, La Réserve Hotel & Spa in Geneva for 10 years before relocating to Hong Kong.
  • Music producer at SpeekAir.
  • Hong Kong resident Dj for S&S Hospitality at Alto
  • Hong Kong regular guest DJ for Ozone (Ritz Carlton), Felix (The Peninsula)
  • Sound Designer for Luxury Hospitality Group and Brands.

Elsa

Piano teacher

  • Graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Hong Kong Baptist University; achieved Grade 8 in Piano from the Royal Schools of Music
  • Registered Education Bureau Teacher
  • Instructor at the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Music and Art Development Centre and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Youth Space
  • Experienced in nursery groups, teaching singing games, rhythm activities, and art courses
  • Certified in Children’s Fitness Instructor Training and Early Childhood Music Education
  • Conductor at the Orff Children’s Music International Education Institution

  • Performance Diploma in Violin from Trinity College London (2022), Grade 8 in Singing from The Royal Schools of Music with Merit (2018), Notable IGCSE in Music-B from Edexcel (2021).
  • Member of the Yong Soloists Paganini Chamber Orchestra (2022-2025) and the Hong Kong Children’s Symphony Orchestra (2020-2021).
  • Assistant Choirmaster and Social Secretary for the University Choir (2025-2026), active member and performer in various choirs and orchestras.
  • Performed at significant events, including graduation ceremonies and the Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition.

Guitar, Singing, Piano & Cello teacher

  • The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts – Diploma in Drama Foundations (2020-2021)
  • Qualifications : Piano – (Trinity ATCL, 2019), Cello – (ABRSM Grade 8, 2013), Guitar – (ABRSM Grade 6, 2018), Dalcroze method for 12 hours practice (MusiKitchen, 2020) & Orff method for 35 hours practice (MusiKitchen, 2021).

Jason

Guitar and Drums teacher

  • Over 20 years of experience teaching guitar and pop rock bands.
  • Proficient in drums, bringing a well-rounded approach to music education.
  • Leads pop rock bands, helping students develop their performance skills. Uses a proactive, student-centered approach to make learning engaging.
  • Conducts group workshops and community events to foster collaboration. Served as a guest lecturer at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, and The Hong Kong Metropolitan University, sharing insights with aspiring musicians.
  • Integrates play therapy techniques to support students’ emotional well-being while learning.

Lawrence

Guitar and Drums teacher

  • Graduated from The University of British Columbia and achieved Rockschool Grade 8 in Drums, Guitar, and Bass.
  • Professional multi-instrumentalist and music producer, specializing in drums, with over 10 years in the Hong Kong music scene.
  • His solo album features J-citypop with influences of Funk and Neo-soul, and he has performed in major venues alongside notable artists.
  • His teaching approach emphasizes developing students’ musicality, discipline, and self-confidence.

Richard

Drums, Guitar, Bass and Keys teacher

  • Multi-instrumentalist & educator with a strong international experience
  • Luxembourg Jazz Conservatoire & UK University trained
  • IB Music expert (7/7 points achieved)
  • Industry collaborations with Ed Sheeran’s team, BBC Big Band
  • Former UCAS specialist – knows UK uni requirements inside out
  • Studio session experience with major UK artists
  • Can teach all grades through ABRSM, Rockschool, Trinity rock and pop, London College of music exam boards

Sara

Singing and music induction teacher

  • Graduated with Honours in Early Childhood Education from Seneca Polytechnic and a BTEC in Musical Theatre from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts; earned Pearson BTEC Level 4 HNC in Performing Arts.
  • Performed at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, Hong Kong International Airport, and the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival.
  • Performed as choir member in Leo Ku’s concert and Jan Lamb’s stand-up comedy show at Hong Kong Coliseum in 2019; joined TVB’s “Cantopop At 50” in 2020.
  • Led the family concert “Little Kids Jazz World” in 2021 and participated in Tai Kwun’s online show “Social Gathering Ban(d) Show” as one of 50 local musicians.
