At FHK Music, violin is not just an instrument — it is a community. With nearly 20 young violinists currently enrolled, our string programme is one of the most vibrant in Hong Kong. Students do not just practise in isolation; they perform together, challenge each other, and grow as musicians in a rich ensemble environment.
From complete beginners picking up a bow for the first time, to experienced players performing in a full orchestra — FHK Music has a place for every violinist.
What makes FHK Music’s violin programme truly unique is the variety of musical experiences on offer:
This three-layered approach — solo, chamber, and orchestral — mirrors the way professional musicians develop their craft. It is the FHK difference.
The quality of a violin programme comes down to its teachers. At FHK Music, the string department is in exceptional hands.
Metal leads and manages FHK Music’s entire string programme. With years of experience guiding young musicians at every level, he brings structure, vision, and deep musical expertise to the department. Under his direction, the string programme has grown into one of the most active and well-organised at FHK Music — a community where students stay, progress, and thrive.
Ethan is the youngest teacher on the FHK Music team — and one of the most naturally gifted. An exceptionally talented violinist, he brings infectious enthusiasm and a fresh, modern approach to teaching that resonates particularly well with children and teenagers. His students do not just learn violin; they fall in love with it.
Beyond the joy of music, learning the violin has well-documented benefits for children:
Ideal for students who want focused, personalised attention. Private lessons are available everywhere in Hong Kong. Lessons can also be arranged at home with one of our qualified teachers. Sessions run from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on age and level.
For students ready to play with others, our string quartet at Clearwater Bay and The Classypops orchestra at Stanley offer a genuinely exciting ensemble experience. These are not just rehearsals — they lead to real public performances that students and families remember for years.
Private violin lessons start from HKD 390 for a 30-minute session, up to HKD 650 for a 60-minute session. Family discounts and combo packages are available for students enrolled in multiple activities.
Group lessons start at HKD290 / hour, with family or combo discounts available.

At FHK Music, concerts are not optional extras — they are built into the programme. Twice a year, students perform in front of a live audience, giving them a genuine reason to practise and a real sense of achievement. For string students, the Classypops orchestra concerts at Stanley are a highlight of the school year — a moment where months of work come together on stage.
Whether your child is a complete beginner or an experienced player looking for a school with a strong ensemble culture, FHK Music’s violin programme is designed to take them further — musically and personally.
