Rockschool Ukulele Grade 1 (2020) is designed for players who are ready to build on their beginner foundations and develop greater confidence and control. At this level, students strengthen their core technique while exploring a fun and engaging selection of contemporary repertoire.
Grade 1 introduces more varied strumming patterns, smoother chord transitions, improved rhythmic accuracy, and greater dynamic awareness. Learners begin to expand their chord vocabulary and develop cleaner tone production, helping them perform with increased fluency and musical expression.
Each piece is supported by clear performance guidance and practical technical tips, encouraging good practice habits and confident preparation for assessment. The repertoire is carefully arranged to challenge students while remaining accessible and enjoyable.
