The Suzuki Violin School, Volume 5 (International Edition) represents a significant milestone in a student’s musical development and is proudly recommended by the violin teachers of FHK Music. At this advanced stage, students refine their technical control, musical interpretation, and stylistic understanding through substantial concerto repertoire and sophisticated musical works.

The Suzuki Method® of Talent Education, founded by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, is built on the belief that every child is born with ability and that nurturing environment shapes growth. Using the “mother-tongue” approach, students learn through listening, repetition, and positive guidance. Lessons are typically conducted in private studio settings, often complemented by group classes, helping students grow both as musicians and as individuals.

Volume 5 introduces students to larger-scale works that demand greater musical maturity, secure shifting, advanced bow control, refined vibrato, stylistic awareness, and confident performance skills.

Repertoire Includes:

  • Lullaby (Tonalization) (Schubert)
  • Lullaby (Tonalization) (Brahms)
  • Concerto No. 2 in G Major, Op. 13, 3rd Movement (Seitz)
  • Concerto No. 5 in D Major, Op. 22, 1st Movement (Seitz)
  • Concerto No. 5 in D Major, Op. 22, 3rd Movement (Seitz)
  • Concerto in A Minor, Op. 3, No. 6 – 1st & 3rd Movements (Vivaldi/Nachez)
  • Perpetual Motion (“Little Suite No. 6”) (Böhm)
  • Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor, BWV 1043 – 1st Movement, Violin II (J. S. Bach)

Through this carefully selected repertoire, students develop endurance, expressive phrasing, stylistic accuracy in Baroque and Classical music, and greater confidence in concerto performance.

Volume 5 prepares advancing violinists for higher-level repertoire and performance opportunities, marking an important step toward artistic independence and mature musicianship.

An inspiring and rewarding stage in the Suzuki journey. ??
